SmallCap Solar companies have been on a nice run today with several registering big gains on high volume. The solar sector has been very popular as investors are looking into the future of power production and the world’s demand for it. Personally, I am a huge solar fan, and believe that a combination of solar, wind and maybe a couple more alternative energies would be just what the world needs because using just one source is very impractical and unreliable. Anyway, that being said here are several solar companies to take a closer look at before adding them to your watch-list.
Shares of Evergreen Solar (NASDAQ:ESLR) jumped 19 percent to $1.09 per share on very high volume of 12.5 million shares compared to its average daily volume of only 2 million shares.
Shares of Clear Skies Solar (OTC:CSKH) jumped 16 percent to $0.06 per share on volume of 3.7 million shares compared to its average daily volume of only 900,000 shares.
Shares of Axion Power International (OTC:AXPW) also jumped 16 percent to $0.70 per share on heavy volume of 270,000 shares compared to its average daily volume of only 80,000 shares.
