Vystar (OTCBB:VYST): New Developments in Latex

More than 40,000 types of commercial products are made from natural rubber latex (NRL)—from gloves and condoms to balloons, mattresses and pillows. It’s been estimated that 3 percent of the general population and up to 17% of healthcare workers suffers from some form of latex allergy, thus hindering their ability to use these and other products. Yet a remarkable new patented technology from Vystar Corporation “VYST” is not only capable of removing virtually all of the proteins in latex that cause allergy symptoms, but also saving precious water and energy in the process.

Vystar has created patented “Vytex NRL” by applying science to nature. Vytex NRL is an innovative raw material with significantly reduced levels of the allergy-causing proteins commonly found in natural rubber latex. It was designed as a “drop in” material and integrates seamlessly into manufacturing operations that currently use NRL or synthetic substitutes without additional capital investment or equipment.

We’ve all used or seen computers displaying Intel Inside®, diet soft drinks sweetened with Splenda® and cookware made with Teflon®. These key ingredients – Intel, Splenda and Teflon – are also their own brands and provide meaningful and proprietary benefits to the overall product while strengthening its image and differentiating it from the competition. The companies behind these products promote the ingredients to provide added value and enhance the image and quality of the host brand. This marketing strategy is called “ingredient branding”.
Intelligently, Vystar appears to be focused on following the model and in the footsteps of these other well established brands. I think this makes great sense when one considers the vast $3 billion plus and growing market place which includes manufacturers and consumers both seeking to promote a lighter environmental footprint. Looking at the company’s management team, board and advisory board, there is certainly no shortage of talent surrounding this small company. Importantly, a long list of form 4′s indicates they too are willing to put their own money where their mouths are.

So the next time you buy a product containing latex, don’t be surprised to see Vystar’s “Made with Vytex NRL” affixed to it. In fact, I’d urge you to look for it knowing your purchase will not only possesses superior performance qualities, but you will also be protecting Mother Earth.
