Majesco provides interactive entertainment products primarily in the United States and Europe, offering video game software and other digital entertainment products. The Company publishes video games for interactive entertainment hardware platforms, including Nintendo's DS, DSi, and Wii; Sony's PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable; Microsoft's Xbox and Xbox 360; and personal computers and other mobile devices, and sells its products primarily to retail chains, specialty retail stores, video game rental outlets, and distributors, as well as international publishers. Today Majesco announced they have begun shipping “Attack of the Movies 3-D”, a new game in which players become an integral part of movie scenes they can typically only watch. Each scene features genre-based ultimate weapons to engage enemies, including zombie-slaying shotguns, automatic laser cannons and others. In addition, branching paths, changing enemy attack patterns, unique areas and environmental challenges ensure that players never experience the same fight twice. The game was developed by Panic Button Games Inc. and is rated T for Teen. For a suggested retail price of only $29.99, and comes completely packaged with four pairs of 3-D glasses to support four-player multi-player action. The game transports players to six fantastic movie-themed worlds where they will battle monstrous insects, blast underwater sea creatures, join the resistance against the machines and much more.
In March, Majesco reported fourth quarter financial results. Net revenues for the three months ended January 31, 2010 decreased to $29.2M from $32.8M in the comparable quarter last year. The $3.6M decrease was primarily due to decreased sales of games for the Nintendo Wii console. Net income for the three months ended January 31, 2010 was $3.8M, a decrease of $0.4M from $4.2M for the three months ended January 31, 2009. The decrease was partially offset by increased gains related to the change in fair value of warrants and sale of net operating losses.
