BGP - Borders Bookstore goes Twilight

Borders Bookstore (NYSE: BGP) is promoting an absolute smorgasbord of "Twilight Saga" offerings this spring for vampire fans everywhere. From a collector's edition of the DVD with more than 90 minutes of never-before-seen content, to hot Twilight-themed merchandise including clothes and jewelry and everything in between.

The two-disc DVD, which comes as part of the gift set, includes can't-be-missed bonus features that can only be found on this special Borders edition, such as:

1. 11 exclusive extended scenes from the film including the pivotal segment where Jacob visits in Bella in her room and the scene where Edward meets with the Volturi in Italy;
2. Exclusive interviews with cast members Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), Taylor Lautner (Jacob), the Cullen Family, the Wolf Pack, the Volturi and film director Chris Weitz;
3. Exclusive Red Carpet footage from the global movie premiere in Los Angeles featuring interviews with Pattinson, Stewart, Ashley Greene (Alice) as well as several other cast members; and
4. Front row seats to Borders' own "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" Webcast featuring all of the top Twilight fan sites and special guest Charlie Bewley, who plays Demetri in the film.

When fans buy any version of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" DVD, they can also purchase any New Moon T-shirt for just $5 through March 22. The shirts normally retail for between $19.99 and $24.99.

This seems to be a smart move by Boarders as the “Twilight Saga” has an almost cult-like following. The exclusiveness of the DVD to Boarders will without question help bring more volume into the store. It is always a good move to take advantage of the next fad or craze and the offering of this plethora of exclusive products is just that.
